West End Guide Station Tree Cutting Day 7 (The Final Day)

The seventh day of cutting was the final day of cutting around the West End Guide Station on McPherson’s Ridge. This view was taken facing north at approximately 4:30 PM on Tuesday, March 9, 2010.
After seven days of cutting, the National Park Service contractor is finished with removing the trees around Gettysburg National Military Park’s West End Guide Station. Cleaning up the last remaining items that have been cut is all that appears to be left for the contractor to do.

Someone removed the “message” today. It wasn’t replaced with a map that would provide uh, you know, INFORMATION about Gettysburg National Military Park,(why would you want to have information at the information station?), and maybe they filled up the brochure rack and they’re now all gone.
