The Taneytown Road entrance to the new Gettysburg National Military Park Visitor Center complex was closed yesterday afternoon and this morning in order to repair a road that has not held up to the heavy traffic. Some visitors attempting to leave the visitor center and take the self-guided auto tour are confused, and frustrated because detour signs were not posted. The parking lots and roads leading to the parking lots at the new Gettysburg National Military Park Visitor Center are still a work in progress. Yesterday afternoon, and still this morning the Taneytown Road entrance to the visitor center were closed in order to repair a section of road near Parking Lot #3. Detour signs for visitors were not posted, and some visitors were frustrated in their attempts to get on the self-guided auto tour.
