If you have visited Gettysburg this month, you’ve likely been subject to the number of road closings that will be extending on into the summer months. For locals, we hope that you have perfected the various detours around these closed roads. Today, we’ll take a look at the continued work that is part of the Steinwehr Avenue improvement project.
If you’re planning on visiting Tommy’s Pizza, you’ll find that the Steinwehr Avenue sidewalk is inaccessible. This view was taken facing southwest at approximately 5:00 PM on Thursday, April 14, 2011.

One interesting point that some people have pointed out to us is that the new abutments (visible in the upper background of this photo) have resulted in less parking places and ones that also seem to be a bit more narrow — we hope visitors are skilled at parallel parking during busy months.
