The peach trees in Joseph Sherfy’s Peach Orchard, more commonly known as “the Peach Orchard,” were replanted at the beginning of April, 2008. This month, they appear to our untrained eyes to be fairly healthy. A couple of weeks ago, they were all in bloom. In today’s post we update the condition of the peach trees in Sherfy’s Peach Orchard at the intersection of the Emmitsburg Road and Wheatfield Road. We also show how the fence along the Millerstown Road, which had been flattened by an inebriated driver, has recently been repaired.

The Peach Orchard area (that contains the trees) has been closed to the public for the past three years (two years to treat the ground after the old trees were cut out, and one year with these trees). The fence on the north side of the Millerstown Road (between West Confederate Avenue and the Emmitsburg Road) has been hit twice over the winter in two alcohol-related incidents. This view was taken facing northwest at approximately 9:00 AM on Monday, April 13, 2009.
