The Peace Light vandalism was first discovered by an “off duty” Licensed Battlefield guide and his friend as they were touring the battlefield on the afternoon of Thursday, January 8, 2009. They were the first to report the vandalism (at least the National Park Service didn’t know about it when they reported it). They also took a couple of pictures of the spray painting, and have now shared them with us. Currently, the National Park Service has boards over the spray paint as we showed you on our post for January 10, 2009.
