Gettysburg Licensed Battlefield Guide Rich Kohr is the host for our series on Arlington National Cemetery. He is resting by the grave of Colonel (Brevet Brigadier General) Joseph Dixon who served on the staff of Major General George Gordon Meade during the Gettysburg Campaign. Arlington National Cemetery, overlooking Washington, D.C., has many connections to Gettysburg and to the Gettysburg Campaign. There are many more connections than to only Robert E. Lee’s residence, and John F. Kennedy’s grave. Almost every row in the older sections have someone buried there who had a link to Gettysburg.

In the right background is the monument to Brigadier General Robert Byington Mitchell, commanded the Cavalry Corps of the Army of the Cumberland during the Chickamauga Campaign. The large monument in the left background at the top of the hill is to George Crook, who is known for his exploits during the Indian Wars.
