The Civil War Monument in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Hanover, Pennsylvania, was dedicated in 1911. Around it are buried some Civil War soldiers from the Hanover area. There are also two reproduction cannon, and two stanzas from Theodore O’Hara’s poem, “Bivouac of the Dead.” This view was taken from the southeast facing northwest at approximately 11:50 AM on Tuesday, June 24, 2008.
On Tuesday, the Gettysburg Daily stopped by Hanover Pennsylvania’s Mount Olivet Cemetery to take photographs of the Civil War monument located there. The monument has reproduction civil war cannon on either side of it, and some civil war soldiers from the Hanover area buried around it. Unfortunately, the American Legion platform is very close to the Civil War headstones.
